Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly following the resignation of Mojisola Meranda. He was returned to the role during Monday’s plenary session, where he called for unity and love among lawmakers.
Obasa was impeached in January over allegations of poor leadership, abuse of office, and intimidation of colleagues. However, APC leaders, including Bisi Akande, Segun Osoba, and Akinwunmi Ambode, intervened at the directive of President Bola Tinubu to resolve the crisis.
After a reconciliation meeting, Meranda and other top principal officers resigned, paving the way for Obasa’s return.
