Comrade Asake emerges Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Kaduna

Comrade Jonathan Asake and Bashir Idris Aliyu have emerged the Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate and running mate of the Labour Party for the 2023 general elections.

In a substitution primary election that took place in Kaduna on Tuesday, the other governorship aspirant, Shunom Adiga, stepped down for Asake, after which delegates from the 23 local government areas of the State unanimously endorsed Comrade Asake.

While accepting to fly the party’s flag in the governorship election, Comrade Asake noted that the stepping down of the contestant was an indication of the Party’s desire to form a government of unity, a government of stepping down of personal interest for the interest of the general public.

The Labour party governorship candidate observed that Kaduna State had experienced a lot of destruction of lives and properties, saying that the State needed a leader with courage.

Comrade Asake also stressed that what was needed was men and women of courageous character that would put their interests below the general interest of the State and the country and pilot the affairs of the nation to achieve desired goals of the common people.
