The Administrator, Kaduna Capital Territory, KCTA, Muhammad Hafiz Bayero, has tasked contractors handling the evacuation of solid waste to work towards achieving the set objectives.
Delivering a welcome address during an onboarding workshop on integrated solid waste collection and disposal services in Kaduna on Wednesday, Bayero called on residents to cooperate with those saddled with the evacuation of the waste.
While explaining that people would be willing to pay for the waste disposal based on the quality and efficiency of the job, adding that the goal is make Kaduna a cleaner city and possibly the cleanest city in Nigeria and by extension Africa.
Bayero further explained the purpose of the event.
He advised people to cultivate the culture of clearing blocked drainages and to stop dumping of refuse indiscriminately noting that the State Government has spent huge amount of money in dredging the Kaduna river and work is almost sixty per cent and outlined Buruku and Gonin-Gora as the designated sites or areas for dumping of wastes for now revealing that their work would be for a probationary period of 3 months.
