A group under the aegis of Coalition of Southern Kaduna Young Professionals has faulted alleged plans by some political players and elders to sabotage the ambition of the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, Honourable Jonathan Asake to contest the Kaduna State Governorship election under the Labour Party.
A statement signed by the Chairman, Comrade Danjuma Peter and Secretary, Hon. Moses Y. Dogonyaro said Southern Kaduna youths and women do not only believe, but have total confidence in the leadership of Jonathan Asake.
The group therefore kicked against alleged moves by a former governor of the state to use leaders of the region to persuade Asake to abandon his governorship ambition in the 2023 election, noting that Southern Kaduna people have played second fiddle and substitute enough and cannot settle for it any longer.
According to Peter, Honourable Asake has overtime as SOKAPU President, displayed the desired leadership qualities that the state has long yearned for to bring about good governance, therefore, they expressed their readiness to support his resolve to vie for the number one seat of the state.
The coalition believe the Labour Party represents the future ambition and focus of Youth and women, who are now regarded as a third force in the Nigerian political setting.
