Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr Hamid Bobboyi, says ongoing 2022 NPA not aimed at increasing taxes.

The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr Hamid Bobboyi, said the ongoing 2022 National Personnel Audit (NPA) is not aimed at increasing taxes.
Dr. Bobboyi made this known in Abuja, while briefing newsmen on the progress of the process, which began on Monday, June 6.
He said the exercise was meant to collate data for effective planning towards expansion of access to quality education, gender parity at the basic level of education, among others.
Dr. Bobboyi disclosed that the headcount, which was in two phases, had commenced in the seventeen Southern states while that of the nineteen Northern states including the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) would begin on July 4.
The UBEC Executive Secretary also assured that measures had been put in place for a seamless exercise, adding that the Commission was in partnership with relevant government agencies and development partners.
According to him, other partners include; the National Bureau of Statistics, National Population Commission, Nigeria Air Space Research and Development Agency, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Association of Private School Owners, among others.
