French wildcard, Leolia Jeanjean, has defeated eighth seed, Karolina Pliskova, in the French Open second round for a win she said will change everything.

The world number 227, who lived on minimum wage after a knee injury when she was 15 years kept her off the courts for two years, beat Czech Republic’s Pliskova 6-2; 6-2.

With the win, 26-year-old Jeanjean will now earn a minimum of 107,118 pounds.

Pliskova joins stars such as; Barbora Krejcikova (seeded second), Anett Kontaveit (fifth), Ons Jabeur (sixth), Garbine Muguruza (10th), fourth seed Maria Sakkari and Britain’s Emma Raducanu, the 12th seed, who made an early exit at this year’s Roland Garros.
