The Member representing Jaba/Zangon-Kataf Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Kaduna State, Honourable Amos Gwamna Magaji (AGM) on Monday, clinched the PDP return ticket for a second term after a stiff contest with a former National Assembly Staff, Gideon Jock.
Magaji scored 38 votes to beat his stiff challenger Mr Jock who trailed with 27 votes, after the primary was postponed for a day due to incomplete ballot paper sent for the election on Sunday.
Announcing the results of the election at the Bajju Town-hall, Zonkwa, the Returning Officer, Mr. Tachio John commended the delegates for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the election.
Mr Jock who immediately conceded defeat, embraced AGM and congratulated him for the victory after a 24-hour behind the scene negotiations and Horse trading with two other aspirants who later withdrew from the race.
On his part, AGM who described the election as a long and competitive battle, thanked God for the victory, pledged to consolidate on his legislative agenda for peace and development of his constituency and Southern Kaduna at large.
Former House of Assembly Member, Honourable Esther Abba and retired Brigadier General Simon Katunku Gora, had just before the election commence, withdrew from the race.
