Federal Government hikes electricity tariff.

The Federal Government through its Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Thursday officially released different documents indicating the approved power tariff increase payable by consumers to various electricity distribution companies in Nigeria.
In different orders, the Electricity Regulatory Commission has given approval to the 11 Discos operating in Nigeria to increase their tariff rates. They include: Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC); Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC); Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC); Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC); Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) and Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
The new approval took effect from January1, 2022 but the new rate is from February 2022.
