Liverpool defeated local rivals; Everton 2-0 in the Merseyside derby, on Sunday, to keep the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Everton were pushed into the relegation zone even before their match against Liverpool at Anfield kicked-off, as Burnley recorded a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Second-half goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi made sure Everton remained in the relegation zone, despite playing very well in the match.
The victory over Everton, which is Liverpool’s twelfth consecutive home league win, reduces Manchester City’s lead at the top of the table to just one point with five games remaining.
