Liverpool defeated Manchester United on Tuesday, for the second time this season, to move top of the Premier League table.
It only took five minutes for Liverpool, who were visiting Old Trafford, to open the scoring, as Sadio Mane’s through ball found Salah in acres of space and he passed the ball to Diaz, who scored from close range.
Liverpool scored a second goal in the 22nd minute after Joel Matip pushed the ball into Mane’s feet and the Senegalese lofted a first-time pass over the top for Salah.
Mane coolly scored the third goal from Diaz’s cross, while Salah took his tally for the season to thirty goals, five of which have come in two games against Manchester United, as he lifted the ball over David De Gea from Diogo Jota’s pass five minutes from time.
In the meantime, Fulham United were promoted back to the Premier League on Tuesday with four games to go as Aleksandar Mitrovic scored twice in a 3-0 win over Preston at Craven Cottage.
