UNICEF says more than 50 percent of children in Kaduna state experiencing multi-dimensional poverty.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that more than 50 percent of children in Kaduna state are experiencing multi-dimensional poverty, calling for strategic and coordinated approach to social protection.
Kaduna State UNICEF representative and Social Policy Specialist, Ramatu Budah Aliyu, who stated this, on Thursday, at the Launch of the Situation Analysis of Children in Kaduna, said the UN body was committed towards supporting the State in the welfare and development of children.
The Commissioner for Planning and Budget Commission, Umma Yusuf Aboki, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Bashir Mohammed, gave the objectives for the launch of the report – which was organized by the Ministry.
On her part, the Commissioner, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Amina Baloni, assured of the Kaduna state government’s commitment towards total implementation of the report.
The Kaduna State Coordinator, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Dr. Sani Hassan, Alive and Thrive, UNFPA, Save the Children, among other development partners, also made useful presentation on the Situation Analysis report of Children in Kaduna state.
