The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has called on Journalists to be independent-minded and professional in their reportage.

The Emir, who was represented by the District Head of Gabasawa, Dangaladiman Waziri, made the call in a goodwill message, on Tuesday, during a security and award ceremony.

According to him, doing so would, further, encourage peaceful coexistence among residents of the State and also bring about development in Kaduna and Nigeria at large.

The Royal Father, who noted that peace is everyone’s business, added that the role of the media in society cannot be overemphasized in shaping opinions and exposing trends.

In a remark, the Deputy Commander in charge of Narcotics, Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Dechi Elisha David, urged Journalists and well-meaning Nigerians to join the Agency in the fight against illicit drugs.

While calling on Journalists to be fair in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, he praised them for the excellent job they have been doing.
