Yemen’s president, Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, has sacked his deputy and transferred power to a leadership council.
Mr. Hadi, who said this on Thursday, also announced that the eight-member council would be led by former minister Rashad al-Alimi.
Coming five days after the start of a two-month nationwide truce, the President tasked the council to negotiate with the Houthis to agree a permanent ceasefire and a political solution to the war.
Report says that Saudi Arabia is in support of the coalition which is fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen’s civil war.
