Spanish giants, Barcelona, were forced to a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany in their Europa League first-leg clash on Thursday night.

Frankfurt’s Ansgar Knauff scored first for the hosts three minutes into the second half, but Ferran Torres equalised for Barcelona just after the hour mark.

In another match, 10-man West Ham also played out a 1-1 draw at home against Lyon in an entertaining clash.

Aaron Cresswell was shown a straight red card for a foul on Moussa Dembele just before the end of first half, but West Ham scored first in the 52nd minute when Jarrod Bowen scored after an error from Jerome Boateng.

The lead, however, lasted only 14 minutes as Tanguy Ndombele, on loan from Tottenham, equalised for the visitors.

In Portugal, Abel Ruiz scored a wonderful 40th-minute goal as Braga defeated Rangers of Scotland 1-0.
