The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme has boosted the enrolment and turn up rate of pupils in schools and has helped them improve academically.
This was made known by the Monitoring and Evaluation Programme Manager, Mrs. Sophie Bako while speaking on Invicta’s FM Flagship Programme Perspectives, she added that there is a nutritionist who drafts out menu on the types of meals to be cooked on daily basis.
Bako said thousands of pupils are benefiting from the programme and it has also created job opportunity for women and the criteria before the employment as cooks for the scheme.
There was a plea that the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme initiated by the Kaduna state government in 2016 which pupils from primary one to three in public schools benefit from every day should have more classes included.
