Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has pledged to support Maize Association of Nigeria, MAAN and others in the agric value chains to succeed as diversification is key to the sector.
El-Rufai made the pledge on Monday in Kaduna, during a program marking the 30th anniversary of the Maize Association of Nigeria.
Represented by the State Commissioner for agriculture, Dr Husseini Ibrahim, the Governor attributed the re-establishment of the pyramids to the painstaking efforts of the Central Bank of Nigeria, MAAN and the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, RIFAN.
On what Kaduna State Government was doing to get the youth gainfully involved in agriculture, the State Commissioner for agriculture, Husseini Ibrahim, said lands have been set aside for the youth to boost agriculture, as well as partnership with MasterCard.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to commission the Maize Pyramids on Thursday, 24th April, 2022.
