A chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has warned the party against leaving its 2023 presidential ticket open for all members to contest.
George said this, on Sunday, while speaking on National Televisions.
According to him, even though it is necessary to ensure the right PDP candidate is fielded to contest for the Presidency in Nigeria, it is equally important to ensure such a position is zoned to a particular region.
His remark came against the backdrop of the controversy trailing the zoning of the PDP’s presidential ticket.
While aspirants from the Northern part of the country wish to contest on the platform of the party, their southern counterparts have continued to demand that the PDP’s presidential candidate emerge from the region.
