Reps Probe NRC over Trains’ Breakdowns.

The House of Representatives has resolved to place the Nigerian Railway Corporation on the status enquiry over the recent case of midway stoppage of a train on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line due to shortage of fuel.
This followed the adoption of a motion by the House Minority Leader, Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, who recalled that on March 11, a Lagos-Ibadan train-bound broke down due to insufficient fuel, endangering the lives of the travellers.
Elumelu also urged the parliament to look into the corporation’s services in the area of ticket racketeering and hoarding to the public, by unscrupulous elements within.
The House, in its hallowed wisdom, resolved to set up an ad hoc committee, for a status report of the NRC operations, within a stipulated period of four weeks.
