Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) publishes final list of candidates for Ekiti governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates for the Ekiti governorship election scheduled to hold on June 18.
National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, disclosed this in a signed statement which was made available to newsmen on Monday.
According to him, the list was released in compliance with the Electoral Act 2022 and following the close of nominations by political parties.
Okoye, in the statement, said the attention of parties is drawn to Section 32 subsection 3 of the Electoral Act 2022, which provides that failure to notify the Commission shall not be grounds to cancel the election.
He said that the final list is published in INEC State and Local Government offices in Ekiti State, as well as their website and social media platforms for public information as required by law.
Okoye, therefore, advised political parties to take note of the provision of the law for compliance.
