Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, says Federal Government committed to developing Niger Delta region.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, says the Federal Government is committed to developing the Niger Delta region.

Professor Osinbajo said this at the weekend when he flagged off the Southern Ijaw Link Bridge in Bayelsa State.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is undertaking several projects in the region which signifies its resolve to develop the Niger Delta.

In his remarks, the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, thanked the Vice President for coming to the State to commission the Bridge in Bayelsa.

Report says some of the projects being carried out by the Federal Government in the Niger Delta include; the Ogoni clean-up in Rivers State; the take-off of the Nigeria Maritime University;

Others are; the establishment of modular refineries across states in the region; infrastructure projects, including the 34-kilometre Bonny-Bodo Road and Bridge project, and the Warri-Itakpe railway line.
