Late Army Chief Kids vs. uncle: Defendant opted out of  Court settlement

The Maternal uncle of the children of a late former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Luka. N Yusuf, Mr. Emmanuel Yusuf, has opted for an out of court settlement with his nieces and nephews, who had dragged him before a Magistrate Court sitting in Kaduna seeking recovery of their father’s property which he presently occupies.

The Counsel to the claimant, Barrister Danjuma Kwajaffa, of Messer Hali Chambers disclosed this while speaking to newsmen at the premises of a Magistrate Court in Kaduna.

According to him, the Counsel to the Defendant, B. P. Achi, Esquire, approached them, requesting that the matter be amicably settled out of Court.

Barrister Kwajaffa also said that in view of this the case was adjourned to 17th March, 2022 for report of the settlement.

In Suit No. KDC/734cc/21 filed by Bilhatu Beauty Yusuf on behalf of her siblings prayed the court to help recover their father’s property located at No. 15, Bourmediene Road, Narayi High Cost, Kaduna, which is in possession of their uncle.

The suit, supported by a claim filed by Barrister D.B. Kwajaffa of Mr Hali Chambers, stated that the claimant is entitled to the possession of premises situate at No. 15, Bourmediene Road, Narayi High Cost, Kaduna, which the defendant occupies as a licensee and whose licence was revoked on October 25, 2021.
