The President, Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend Dr Israel Adelani Akanji has described the kidnapping of 121 students of the Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi in Kaduna State, as paying back in bad way the educational services the Church has been providing to humanity for over 165 years.
Dr. Akanji stated this in Kaduna at the weekend during a Thanksgiving Celebration for the release of 120 students in a message titled: ‘When the Lord brought back the Captives of Zion’, organized by the Nigerian Baptist Conference at Albarka Baptist Church, Barnawa.
On his path, the President Kaduna Baptist Conference, Reverend lshaya Adamu Jangado called on the Safe Schools lnitiative to assist the school in providing a secured environment for school activities to return at the abandoned site.
Some of the released students, who were thankful to God, narrated their experience while in the forest with the kidnappers.
It would be recalled that 121 students of the Bethel Baptist High School and the Matron were kidnapped on July 5, 2021.
However, 120 of them and the Matron were released in 12 badges after an unspecified ransom was paid, while Treasure Ayuba, the last student is still held back by the kidnappers.
