Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency has vowed to end polio virus through vigorous vaccination of Children in order to achieve the target of Global Polio Eradication.
The Agency’s Director, Disease Prevention and Control, Malam Hamza Ibrahim Ikara, disclosed this on Friday, during a press briefing for the commencement of Kaduna State outbreak response for polio.
He spoke on the vaccination of Children less than 5 years.
According to the Director, Kaduna State is among the high risk States, as it recorded 12 cases of circulating mutant polio virus isolated in Zaria, Giwa, Lere, Soba and Sabon-Gari local government areas; noting that security challenges and anti-polio campaign perpetrated by some community members in areas like Birnin Gwari, Giwa is leading to the increasing non-compliance.
