The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna State Chapter has heralded the entry of 2022 with great optimism, saying it is a Year of Great Awakening and Liberation.
In a New Year Message, the State Chairman, Felix Hassan Hyat said though the people have never had it bad, especially in Kaduna State, all should rejoice and welcome the new year as a precursor for a PDP led government of hope in 2023.
Hyat who is also the Chairman, PDP State Chairmen Forum, regretted that the APC-led government under Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai has accumulated over 250 billion naira loans under very questionable circumstances, raising the state debt profile geometrically in the past 6 years.
The former Minister of Aviation said the PDP in Kaduna state deliberately indulged in measured and constructive criticism of the APC-led government in the past six years but has resolved to hold the government to accountable, saying the democratic process of liberating Kaduna State and Nigeria has started.
He said the engagement of youths and women in the party’s leadership structure both at the state and national levels as well as the party’s impressive outing where it won 110 councillorship seats and five Councils in the 2021 Local Government election in the state, signifies its readiness to reclaim the people’s mandate come 2023.
