Kano Pillars and NSCDC emerges champions in 2021 National Volleyball Premier League

Kano Pillars and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have emerged champions in the men’s and women’s categories of the just concluded 2021 National Volleyball Premier League in Abuja.
Both sides took the laurels in their respective draws following ten days of superlative performances at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
In the men’s draw, Kano Pillars defeated Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) 3-0 (32-30, 25-20, 22-25) in a titanic final battle, while NSCDC ladies retained their title after they defeated Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) 3-1 (16-25, 25-19, 23-25,22-25).
Kano Pillars head coach Musa Babamusa cut a fulfilled figure after finally leading his side to the title after they fell short in 2020 when they finished as runners up.
NSCDC head coach Samuel Ajayi while philosophical in defeat, promised his side will do all in their power to wrestle the crown from Pillars next year.
Speaking after the tournament, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Musa Nimrod, revealed that the federation would unveil a new league sponsor for next year’s edition, adding that scouts will be invited for the next season to give international exposure to players.
