Nigerians joins Global Community to celebrate Human Rights Day

The International Human Rights Day celebrated every December 10th, was marked in Kaduna by the National Human Rights Commission, Kaduna branch and their partners with the theme, reducing inequalities and advancing human rights.

The State Coordinator for the National Human Rights Commission, Mr. Terngu Gwar on behalf of the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Barrister Tony Ojukwu (SAN) stated that strategic plans with implementations guideline which is visible and accessible to all has being made available in all the 36 states of Nigeria with women and children in strategic view.

He talked about the theme for this year’s celebration and also the 16 days of activism to stop violence against women.

He further talked about the various partnerships with other parties that will aid in the delivery of their mandate.

The outgoing legal Aid Council Coordinator of Kaduna Branch, Barrister Inna Biba Audu also gave a legal insight of the significance of the day.

Other important stakeholders who graced the events are Hajia Fatima Garba of Matan Arewa who represented the National President, Former House of Representatives Member, Comrade Attahiru, Mr. Hassan of build to help foundation, Rep. of Sarki Hayin, Alhaji Umar. S. Aliyu amongst others.
