The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged the National Assembly to investigate the 10 billion naira funds budgeted to it, which is said to be missing.
SERAP made the call, on Sunday, through its Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare.
SERAP’s statement followed a letter dated 11th December, 2021 wherein the group wants the ninth Assembly to address the allegations that improve public confidence and trust.
The Group also advised the National Assembly to exercise its constitutional and oversight responsibilities and to obey the highest standards of integrity in the management of public funds.
While saying that little can be achieved by the National Assembly in the fight against corruption if they are alleged to be corrupt, SERAP urged the leadership of the Assembly to identify such lawmakers and members of staff.
