House of Representatives agrees to invite Chairman INEC Mahmood Yakubu to brief House on cost of conducting direct primaries in Nigeria.

The House of Representatives has agreed to invite the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Mahmood Yakubu to brief the House on the cost of conducting direct primaries in Nigeria.
The motion to invite Mr. Yakubu was raised by Representative, Leke Abejide, who informed the House that it was important to address the rumours of the cost of the direct primaries.
He said there are rumours that it will cost INEC 500 billion naira to conduct direct primaries.
Reports say that the INEC Chairman is to appear before the Committees on Appropriations and Electoral Matters to speak on the issue.
