A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has maintained that he was not arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a post on his verified social media page on Wednesday, said he was only invited by the anti-graft agency.
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain’s comment came hours after the EFCC confirmed that he was being questioned by the commission.
According to the agency, Fani-Kayode was questioned on allegations relating to the forgery of a medical report which he reportedly got to evade his trial before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
He had arrived at the Lagos office of the EFCC in the company of his lawyer around 1 pm on Tuesday but the commission said updates about his interrogation would be provided later.
Fani-Kayode is standing trial on an alleged 4.6 billion naira frauds before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
