Kaduna citizens to be included in budget making process – Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Kaduna State House of Assembly.

The Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honorable Aminu Ahmad, has said that the Assembly was open and willing to carry along the citizens by including their inputs in the budget making process of the state.
Honourable Ahmad stated this at a Public Hearing organized by the House on the 2022 Appropriation Bill recently presented to the Assembly by Kaduna State Government, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai.
On his part, the Commissioner of Planning and Budget Commission, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi said the Ministry welcomed the array of inputs from different backgrounds, as it will help in meeting the needs of the people which government is out to serve.
Speaking after their presentation, Co-Chairman, Civil Society Open Budget, Joshua James said they were satisfied with both the Legislative and Executive arms of government, as they have demonstrated willingness to carry the citizens along in the budget process through the incorporation of their inputs, as that is what democracy is all about.
At the Budget Public Hearing, a detailed presentation was made by the Convener, Coalition of Associations for Leadership, Peace, Empowerment & Development (CALPED), Yusuf Goje giving reasons backed with data on areas where the budget needs appropriate re-adjustments in order to address Sundry needs base on the Community Development Charter of the Open Government Partnership.
