Kaduna State Government aims to stop dependence On Federal Government Funds – Commissioner, PBC

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning Commission, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi has said that Kaduna State Government is working assiduously to stop the dependence on federal allocation in the next few years.
The Commissioner made this known on Tuesday in a remark at the opening of a public hearing on the state’s 2022 budget at the Kaduna State House of Assembly Complex.
The former Chief of Staff who recently took over at the Budget Commission, said that the state had recorded a recent boost in its tax collections to meet its target of becoming financially stable.
The commissioner said that the state government relies only on 21 per cent of its federal allocation for its finances, while some states cannot do without 70-80 per cent of it for finances.
He said that it was the resolve of the state government to be completely financially stable.
The commissioner assured that all useful recommendations made during the public hearing on the budget would be looked into by the state government.
