Shop Owners, Students lament loss of valuables at Kaduna State University fire.

Many Shops and other valuables worth millions of naira were lost in the inferno at the Kaduna State University, Student’s market.

The occurrence happened on Tuesday evening saw students made frantic efforts to put out the fire while they awaited the arrival of fire service, but could no longer help the situation when a substance exploded from one of the burning shops.

In a chat with an Exco member of the Market Union Joseph Kagarko said the fire started from a particular shop when electricity was restored before 6 pm.

Shop owners who lost valuable called on the government and well-wishers to help them get back their source of livelihood.

Students expressed sadness and sympathised with the business owners.

However, no casualty was being reported and the University authorities were said to have heightened security in the institution.
