President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, after emerging as winner in Anambra gubernatorial election.

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as he emerged winner in the gubernatorial election in Anambra State, saying that he looks forward to working with him.
The President also called on the governor-elect, who is a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee, to rally other stakeholders to tackle the enormous challenges confronting the state and the Southeast in general.
He said this in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
President Buhari also praised the security agencies for their determination in ensuring that the election went on as smoothly as possible, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conclusion of the exercise despite the initial challenges encountered.
The 61-year-old former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, swept to victory after he secured 112,229 votes from 19 of the 21 Local Government Areas – twice more than his closest rival – PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo.

A Media veteran Chief Fidel Oyeneke has applauded the President Muhammadu Buhari for the manner in which the Anambra elections was conducting through his show of sportsmanship.
He was speaking as a guest on Invicta’s flagship Programme Perspectives where he added that the position of the president not forcing any candidate or party on the people made the process free and fair, while setting agenda for the Governor – elect.
Furthermore, Oyeneke praised INEC officials and members of the security for their good conduct throughout the election process with a call on them to continue putting in their best to see and that their services improve.
It would be recalled that Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the APGA party was declared winner after the election was concluded in the early hours of Wednesday morning following the supplementary elections in Ihiala Local Government area.
