Kaduna Public Finance in right Standing to get grants from SFTAS – Idris Suleiman

The Director, Budget from the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission, Idris Suleiman has revealed that the state is in a right standing to get grants from the World Bank initiative: State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability Programme (SFTAS).

He was speaking at a media parley where he had mixed feelings about the public knowledge of the concept which has a 4 year cycle that began in 2018.

Suleiman told the participants that the SFTAS programme resonates with a core governance style of the government which is openness.

He went further to highlight the component of the programme which includes the performance for results and capacities strengthening to enable one enjoy the grants.

The director spoke on some of the developmental link indicators that have begun shaping a much more financially and responsible state.

The organisation of the programme is made possible through the activities of two committees namely the State steering committee which meets quarterly and the Technical working group from relevant MDA’s who meet monthly.
