KADBUSA DG calls for efforts to curb illicit drugs supply.

The Director-General, Kaduna State Bureau of Substance Abuse prevention and treatment agency, KADBUSA, Dr Joseph Maigari, says efforts to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs into the country needs to be stepped up.
He disclosed this during a Seminar organized by the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, on war against drug abuse.
Dr Maigari also spoke on what the agency is doing to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs from the demand side.
The Director-General of the agency identified sensitization as key to achieving the aim of remarketing the supply of such drugs.
Dr Maigari revealed that 10 point 9 per cent of residents in Kaduna State as well as 14 point four per cent in the Country, have drug abuse-related problems.
It could be recalled that the World drug report which was released in June,2021, indicated that 5 point five per cent of global population have drug problems.
