Kidnapped Survivors task Government to get serious with security of lives, properties
Written by News Room on August 18, 2021
Governments at all levels have been advised to take the issue of security of lives and property very seriously.
The advice was given by parents whose children either survived kidnapping or are still hopeful of reuniting with their children who are still in captivity, at a programme jointly organized by the Global Peace Foundation in conjunction with the Kukah Centre.
Lamenting the government indifference to their plight, they said there was need for it to demonstrate commitment like America rescuing the Children.
Also speaking, one of the hopeful parents who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, and the service chiefs, should put themselves in their shoes and work out modalities that lead to finding a lasting solution to the menace.
The programme on psycho-social support for survivours of kidnappings in Kaduna State, is tailored to heal the survivours’ trauma and fear.
