Former Member representing Zangon Kataf Federal Constituency, Sunday Marshal Katung rolled out scholarship to assist indigent students across 10 LGA’S in Kaduna.

Moved by deep concerned from the recent arbitrary hike in tuition fee by Kaduna State Government, former House of Representatives Member representing Zangon Kataf Federal Constituency, Barrister Sunday Marshal has through the Marshal Katung Foundation rolled out scholarship to assist less buoyant indigent students pay their tuition fee across ten Local Government Areas of the State.
Barrister Katung disclosed this on Sunday at a press conference in Kaduna.
Explaining further, Barrister Katung who was also the Kaduna State PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2019 election, said the foundation was also moved by the general insecurity and poverty in the North, as everything must be done to secure the region.
The former Commissioner of Finance who shows deep concern on how the general insecurity in Kaduna State has led to the closure of 18 boarding schools and two territory institutions, also appealed to the Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai to reconsider his stand by reducing the arbitrary tuition hike.
While noting that this is the first phase of the scholarship scheme, he disclosed that the foundation has also been giving interventions in other areas of humanitarian concerns. He then enjoined students in the ten Council areas to lock into a dedicated portal which will be opened from this week.
