Head of Community Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr Sufiyan Muawiyyah Babale says certain attitudes promote vaccine hesitancy.

The Head of Community Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr Sufiyan Muawiyyah Babale, has identified attitudes by some Health Care Workers waiting to see the reaction of Covid-19 on other people and misconception in the media as some of the factors promoting vaccine hesitancy.

He stated this at a two-day consultative meeting with Health Workers on Covid -19 vaccine hesitancy among Health Workers.

The Meeting was organized by the Kaduna State Ministry of Health in collaboration with UNICEF.

Dr Muawiyyah also spoke on some of the ways to improve acceptance of the vaccine.

The Head of Community Medicine noted that the issue of mandatory vaccination which is already in existence in the State, will go a long way in putting an end to hesitancy.

The Vaccine according to the Medic is also safe for both pregnant and nursing mothers.
