The Director, Public Health, Kaduna State Ministry of Health, Dr Hajara Kera, says despite side effects associated with Covid-19 vaccine, the benefits attached to it is worth taking.
She disclosed this today in Kaduna, at a two-day consultative meeting with health workers on Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy among health workers, organized by the Kaduna State Ministry of Health in collaboration with UNICEF.
The Director urged people to be prepared especially as the third wave of the virus has ushered in the delta variant.
Dr Kera explained that about one hundred thirty thousand people in Kaduna State representing almost one point five percent of the whole population, have been tested.
She maintained that the Ministry is monitoring the numbers which will determine the next action, adding that when the first batch of vaccine came, there was about more than ninety thousand doses of vaccine which were exhausted without expiries.
A total of 93 ,009 people indicates the percentage of those who received the first dose, while 67,495 took the second dose and the proportion of those who received the third dose is put at 73 per cent.
