Kaduna PDP institutes Case against Kaduna State Govt. over State Electoral law 2021.

 The Kaduna State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has instituted a case in the High Court of Justice, Kaduna, against the Kaduna State Government, challenging the legality of a section 22(5) of the Kaduna State Electoral Law 2021 which empowers the Governor to appoint Administrator for a Local Government, where election could not hold.

Speaking to Invicta News, Counsel to the Plaintiff, Barrister Samuel Atung states the prayers of his client.

Speaking to further, Barrister Atung said the Kaduna State Assembly lacks the constitutional powers to give the Governor what it doesn’t have.

The Kaduna State Electoral Law 2021 was recently signed by the Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai. The State Independent Electoral Commission (KASIECOM), also quoted it in announcing the August 14th new date of the council election.
