Nigeria wants more positive action in curbing Drug Abuse.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed on 26th June every year with the aim of creating awareness about issues related to drugs abuse and strengthening action and cooperation in order to make the world free of drug abuse.
The theme this year is Share Facts on Drugs, Save Lives. The theme promotes combating misinformation and sharing drug-related facts as well as solutions for treatment to fight against the problem all over the world.
In an Interview with Invicta FM Correspondents Salome Ayis, Ann Anthony and Susan Dauda, a cross-section of Nigerians spoke about the effects of illegal drugs in the society.
A survey by The Kaduna state Bureau for Substance Abuse, Prevention and Treatment (KADBUSA) revealed that 10 percent of citizens in the state abuse drugs.
Citizens however called on the government to do their part by eradicating illicit drugs in the Nation.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other concerned agencies cannot win the fight against drugs abuse and illicit drug trafficking without the cooperation of citizens. For everyone, it is an urgent assignment, because if there must be an end to cultism, banditry, kidnapping and insurgency.
