Kaduna INEC set for Bye Elections.

The lndependent National Electoral Commission (lNEC), in Kaduna said it is set for the conduct of the bye election to replace the former Speaker of the State Assembly, Honourable Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, who’s seat was declared vacant in April by the Speaker, Right Honourable YusufZailani.
The Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner and Administrative Secretary, Auwal Mohammed Mashi who made this known in an interview with lnvicta News, said all commission’s personal are ready and well equip for the election.
According to Mashi, five political parties have fielded candidates for the election to be conducted in 174 polling Units, with a total number of 179 voting points.
Speaking further, the Acting Resident Commissioner assured of a credible election that would be acceptable to all.
Honourable Aminu Shagali was first elected Speaker in 2015 and also re-elected in 2019. But his seat was declared vacant in April 2021 by Speaker Yusuf Zailani for absenteeism for over 120 days, having hurriedly resigned from his position in February 2020 to save himself from impeachment threat.
