The Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM), Professor Abba Isa Tijani believes Nigeria’s revitalization lies greatly in embracing the beauty of Museums and monuments.
He made this known through the Curator of Kaduna National Museums and Monuments, Commission Mr. Elkana Aliyuda Buckly during the delayed celebration of the 2021 International Museum Day at the Commission’s Headquarters, which was necessitated by the ban on large gathering which will hinder lots of people participating in the event.
Looking at the theme of the day which is Future of Museums: Recover and Re-imagine, the representative of the DG said the body has adopted creative measures to make the Museums attractive which includes collaboration to expel stolen monuments and sculptures.

He added that a virtual form of museum experience is already underway to help people appreciate other cultures and by extension serve as a panacea to the current economic challenges.
Chairman of the Event and the Mainan Zazzau, Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, wants the commission despite the challenges to stay true to its mandate.
The event featured paper presentations on the theme and other topics, Cultural performances and Fashion Parade from some Schools in the metropolis. The actual Date for the event is 18th May, 2021.
