KASU Students Protest Tution Hike

Students of Kaduna State University (KAUSU), on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest in rejection of the arbitrary hike of over 500 percent tuition fee by the government of Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai.
The protesters held different banners and placards saying they reject in totality the arbitrary hike, and would sustain their protest until the government revert the increment.
Some of the students spoke to Invicta FM Correspondent, Ango Bally who was on the trail of the peaceful procession which took off from the Tafawa Balewa Way Main Campus of KASU, through the State Secretariat along Independence Way and Waff Road to Sir Kashim Government House road.
Though, security operatives blocked the protesting students on their way to deliver their letter of grievance to the Governor, however, they selected some student leaders who met with the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, and briefed journalists at the Sir Kashim Government House.
There after, the President, National Association of Science Students, and Chairman, Faculty Presidents Forum, Comrade Abubakar addressed the waiting students who blocked all roads to and from the Government House for about 3 hours, with no vehicular movement.
After the briefing, the protesting students said the would give the government the benefit of doubt, having agreed to come to the negotiating table, after which they will decide the next line of action.
