Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has shut down all places of work to press home her demand for a better working condition for workers in the employ of Kaduna State.
The labour union executives from both national and the State levels, staged a rally to the Kaduna State House of Assembly on the first day of the working week long warning strike.
The National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba, Wabba, described the treatment meted out to the workers as not in compliance with labour laws.
He also dwelt on the issue of about three thousand local government workers who were sacked without severance packages.
Speaking at the rally, the Chairman, Kaduna State Nigerian Labour Congress, Suleiman Ayuba Magaji, appreciated the national leadership of the NLC for their show of support and urged all and sundry to come out en-mass for more rounds of the rally throughout the week.
Some public institutions such as the state and federal hospitals were under lock and key as staff were seen outside the gates.
