The APC in Kaduna State may not present a candidate for Chikun Council in the June 5th Local Government election in Kaduna, as the primary election could not hold, three days running.
Invicta FM Correspondent, Ango Bally who has been covering the election activity, reports that the primary election could not take place on Saturday as scheduled by the party, neither did it hold today, Monday, May 10, as youth forcefully prevented electoral officials from release of election materials at the party secretariat in Television bypass, owing to alleged plans to favor one of the five aspirants.
It took the use of force by security personnel to move the election materials from the party office, as youth barricaded the office, since morning, vowing that they will not allow the release of the materials until their fears were genuinely addressed.
The security forcefully moved out the election materials out from party office at 3:45pm, after three unsuccessful attempts.
However, some party members who spoke to Invicta News, said with this stalemate, a breeder may come the way of the party to present a candidate by presenting a consensus candidate to the electoral Commission with Monday being the last day for parties to conclude primary election, according to SIECOM time table.
